Hello St. Paul’s,

It is a joy and an honor to have been given the opportunity to lead the music program at a place as vibrant and enthusiastic as St. Paul’s. While it was a bittersweet moment to send-off my friend and colleague, Will Doreza, who did exceptional work at St. Paul’s – I am truly grateful and excited to have been chosen as the next Director of Music.

This month, while seemingly calm, has been focused around planning and generating vision for the music program at St. Paul’s. The organ console has been moved to enable successful choral singing, allowing the choir easier sight lines to me while I’m playing. This year’s organ recital series is coming together with incredibly talented performers playing on the first Sunday of each month from October through June at 4pm – alongside a second Silent Movie night with organ accompaniment being planned for the end of October. Choir music lists and several fall evensongs are all in the works as well as our beautiful Advent Lessons & Carols service. This year’s group of choral Scholars brings a wealth of musical prowess to help support our younger choristers as they take on new and challenging music this Fall. All the while, this week, if you find yourself on the church’s campus you will hear music all over the place. Several summer camps are happening this week to help young musicians develop their artistry and musical expression.

All this to say – St. Paul’s is a welcoming and inspiring place to make music, and I look forward to all that is to come. Thank you all for your support and I look forward to continuing to work with those of you that I know, and meeting those I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting yet!
