As I reflect on St Paul’s, I am reminded of how much my experience here has shaped my life. The chorister program in particular has impacted and enriched me in so many ways.
When I joined the choir in 2nd grade I immediately felt like I belonged. The choir director always made me feel welcome and the older kids would help me whenever I needed it. I soon became fast friends with the other kids my age and this made my experience all the more enjoyable. Making music with a choir allows me to express myself in a way I don’t often get to do. Through this choir I have found my love of choral music and I know I will carry this with me through my life. The memories I made throughout the years still stand out fondly in my life and were pivotal points in my childhood.
The choral program has also pushed me to learn how to sing in a group and work effectively with other people. I have also had the opportunity to work with incredible professional musicians who have inspired me to keep improving. Choir has given me personal growth as I learn how to help others in their singing. All of this has been made possible through the generosity and opportunities at Saint Paul’s.
I am also so grateful to Saint Paul’s for always providing an inclusive and uplifting spiritual community. The choral program at this church has provided me with comfort and inspiration for many years and I know it will continue to do so. But best of all it has given me the ability to bring joy to my life and to the lives of others through song.
