Joyce Generoso Stewardship

Good morning everyone,
I’m not sure if any of you attended last Sunday’s 11 am service where parishioner Bunny Zamm shared her story about why she came to St. Paul’s. Well Bunny and I go way back, and as she shared, for 54 years, she was the choir director and organist, and a darn good one at that, at Christ Episcopal Church in East Norwalk. I bring her name up because we share a similar story on how we both came to St. Paul’s. We were long time parishioners at our former church.
I was born and raised in Norwalk, baptized, made my confirmation and sang in Bunny’s choir. I attended Sunday school, served on the alter, sat on the vestry, my husband and I got married there. You get the picture. It was my home from a very young age. My religious foundation was set there.
Like Bunny, I left because the parish was in turmoil. I no longer felt spiritually fulfilled and knew it was time to move on. It was not easy leaving a place that held such wonderful memories over the years.
During Covid I would often tune into various churches offering online services. This was the beginning of moving over to St. Paul’s. When we finally came together in person, I was moved by the beautiful music, the warm greeting of the ushers and as Father Daniel and the procession came down the aisle, I said to myself, I found Jesus! Father Daniel had long hair at that time.
Why I keep coming back is because St. Paul’s is really a transformative place, in other words the beauty of the church, the warm and loving community here, the sermons that speak to real life situations, feeds my soul and opens my mind and heart to God in a special way.

I give to St. Paul’s because I know it’s important for the future of the parish. I have a grandson that I
plan to raise here and who has already been baptized at St. Paul’s, along with my son- in-law.
I give because it puts my love for God first and foremost in supporting the mission of the
church.
I donate my donations from my yoga class that I teach here as my way of giving back to my community. Building a strong supportive community like I have in class and that we have here is vital for everyone’s well-being.
SO, to conclude if you have Time, Talent and or Treasure please step up so we can always have a home at St. Paul’s on the Green.
Faithfully yours,
Joyce Generoso
